We are looking for a motivated Assistant Buyer to join our wholesale automotive team. This is a thrilling opportunity for somebody who enjoys forming connections with dealerships and buying lots of cars! The primary responsibilities include searching dealership and private party inventories nationwide for valuable deals or inventory that needs to be moved. You will work closely with a lead buyer to identify vehicles we wish to purchase and make offers to dealerships or consumers on behalf of our client, a leading wholesale automotive brand. Strong sales skills and the ability to negotiate effectively are essential for this role. A background in the automotive industry is highly desirable and a past experience as a buyer is a plus. We are not looking for an “auction buyer” but someone that wants to build lasting relationships directly with dealerships, helping them move trade-ins and old inventory quickly
This is a 1099 contractor position, so your pay is 100% commission-based. You earn $250 per vehicle purchased, allowing you unlimited upside. Our average assistant buyers are buying 10+ cars a week.
Key Responsibilities:
• Search and analyze dealership and private party inventory across the country for potential purchases
• Collaborate with the lead buyer to identify vehicles for acquisition
• Contact dealerships to negotiate and make offers on selected inventory
• Maintain strong relationships with dealerships to facilitate future opportunities
Qualifications:
• Strong sales and negotiation skills
• Experience in the automotive industry as a buyer is a plus
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• Attention to detail and the ability to assess vehicle value
This is a 100% remote position, but in person dealer visits are helpful for success.
