We are seeking a proven General Sales Manager to lead and grow the sales operations of a high-performing, profitable import dealership. This role is responsible for driving new and used vehicle performance, developing sales leadership, optimizing processes, and maintaining a strong customer-focused culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all sales operations including New, Used, F&I, and Internet departments
- Drive performance through KPI management, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making
- Recruit, train, mentor, and retain high-performing sales managers and sales consultants
- Partner closely with the General Manager and executive leadership on store strategy and growth initiatives
- Ensure consistent execution of sales processes, CRM utilization, and compliance standards
- Oversee inventory management, pricing strategy, and merchandising to maximize profitability and turn
- Maintain strong relationships with manufacturer representatives and ensure brand standards are met
- Collaborate with Fixed Operations and BDC leadership to deliver a seamless customer experience
- Lead by example on the showroom floor while empowering department leaders to own their results
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of sales leadership experience in an automotive dealership
- Prior experience as a GSM or Senior Sales Manager strongly preferred
- Import brand experience required
- Strong understanding of variable operations, F&I performance, and inventory management
- Demonstrated ability to develop leaders and build accountable, results-driven teams
- High level of business acumen with experience managing budgets and forecasts
- CRM proficiency and a data-focused approach to performance management
