A well-established, growth-focused automotive group located in Connecticut is seeking an experienced Automotive Controller to join its executive leadership team. Position Summary:

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting functions across multiple rooftops, ensuring accurate reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. This role is ideal for a hands-on financial leader with a deep understanding of dealership accounting operations and a strategic mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all dealership accounting functions, including monthly financial statements, general ledger, schedules, and bank reconciliations
Lead the preparation of consolidated financial reports across multiple brands and locations
Ensure compliance with manufacturer financial requirements, audits, and internal policies
Partner with department leaders to monitor performance, support operational decisions, and optimize profitability
Supervise and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
Manage cash flow, floor plan management, and tax compliance in coordination with outside advisors

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a retail automotive dealership environment
Strong knowledge of dealership management systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with multiple entities
