FIXED OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
The Fixed Operations Director is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all service, parts, and body shop operations across Iverson Auto Group and its family of businesses. This role involves ensuring the efficiency, profitability, and overall success of these departments, while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Management
· Lead, manage, and develop all fixed operations teams, including service, parts, and body shop departments.
· Hire, train, motivate, and monitor the performance of department managers and staff. Schedule training as necessary to properly repair and service vehicles.
· Develop and implement strategic plans to meet and exceed departmental goals in revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Operational Oversight
· Monitor and analyze departmental performance metrics, including profitability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
· Ensure all departments are adequately staffed, and team members receive ongoing training and development.
· Oversee the maintenance and management of equipment and facilities to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
· Maintain high-quality service repairs and minimize comebacks by conducting periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
· Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect service department operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know, etc.
· Maintain a safe work environment and ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols. Ensure that all necessary shop equipment is in proper and safe working condition.
Customer Relations
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction with service, parts, and body shop operations.
· Address and resolve any customer concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
· Work closely with the sales department to ensure a seamless customer experience across all touchpoints.
Financial Management
· Prepare and manage departmental budgets, forecasting, and financial reports.
· Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
· Drive profitability through increased sales, gross profit, P&L management, and labor cost control.
· Ensure the service department meets all customer satisfaction and financial goals.
· Develop dealership service and parts pricing plans and recommend them to the management team.
Vendor & Manufacturer Relations
· Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, parts suppliers, and other vendors.
· Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality service.
· Serve as a liaison with factory representatives to ensure adherence to manufacturer guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, automotive management, or a related field. ASE certification or equivalent technical training is preferred.
· Extensive experience in managing service, parts, and body shop operations within an automotive dealership, ideally at the director level. Minimum of 8+ years of progressive dealership operations experience.
- Applicant is preferred to have years of tenure within an publicly traded automotive group.
· Proficient in the use of dealership management systems and other relevant software, with the ability to analyze and interpret data to enhance productivity and efficiency.
· Experience with multiple brands and manufacturers.
