Position Overview:
Springhill Automotive Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Vehicle Acquisition Manager to join our dynamic team. This key role involves working closely with the Used Car Managers and General Managers (GM) to strategically manage our pre-owned vehicle inventory. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, acquiring, and maintaining an optimal inventory mix to meet market demand and dealership goals. You will be working in a collaborative team environment with a focus on innovation and excellence. Pay range will depend on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Acquisition:
- Source pre-owned vehicle inventory through various channels, including:
- Auctions (physical and online).
- Service drive opportunities.
- Private-party purchases.
- Dealer-to-dealer trades and purchases.
- All other incoming leads through the dealership and third-party websites, by phone, internet and walk-in traffic.
- Reviews vehicle condition reports and inspects vehicles onsite.
- Negotiate purchase terms to maximize profitability while adhering to budget and inventory goals.
- Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with the Used Car Manager and GM to analyze inventory needs based on market trends, sales data, and dealership objectives.
- Ensure the proper balance of vehicle makes, models, and price points to meet customer demand. Build and maintain relationships with customers through effective communication and follow-up to guide them through the sales process, utilizing a variety of communication tools such as chat, email, phone call, text, video, and more.
- Market Research:
- Monitor market trends, including supply, demand, and pricing, to identify acquisition opportunities.
- Utilize tools and resources (e.g., auction software, appraisal tools, and market analytics) to ensure competitive vehicle purchasing. Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process, addressing customer concerns and ensuring a positive buying experience.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of all vehicle acquisitions, appraisals, and purchases.
- Ensure all vehicles meet dealership quality and compliance standards before purchase.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in automotive sales, inventory management, or vehicle acquisition.
- Strong understanding of automotive market trends and pricing strategies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple acquisition channels simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using auction platforms, appraisal software, and dealership management systems.
- Strong understanding of online sales processes, CRM software, and VAuto.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be available to work 5 days per week.
- Be able to pass a background check including drug screening.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
