GM Automotive A-Service Technician
Job Summary:
Local Chevrolet Dealership is seeking an experienced and motivated Chevrolet Automotive Service A Technician to join our growing service team. As a top-tier technician, you will be responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, major repairs, and maintenance on Chevrolet vehicles. Your knowledge of GM systems, technology, and repair protocols will help deliver exceptional service to our customers while maintaining the high standards of Chevrolet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on Chevrolet vehicles using GM-approved equipment and procedures.
- Conduct powertrain, electrical, HVAC, brake, steering, and suspension system repairs.
- Utilize GM GDS2, MDI, and Techline tools to accurately diagnose and resolve vehicle concerns.
- Complete warranty and customer-pay repairs in accordance with GM and dealership standards
- Communicate with service advisors to explain technical diagnoses and repair recommendations.
- Perform comprehensive multi-point inspections and vehicle health checks.
- Mentor and support B and C-level technicians within the shop.
- Stay current with GM technical bulletins, recalls, and service procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in automotive service.
- GM Certified Technician status highly preferred (or ability to certify within 6 months).
- ASE Master Certification preferred
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills, especially on GM vehicles..
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with GM repair software (Techline Connect, GDS2, SI, etc.).
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and meet the physical demands of the job.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in a GM/Chevrolet dealership environment.
- Hybrid and EV (e.g., Bolt EV) diagnostic and repair experience.
- Proficiency with warranty repair documentation and submission.
- Familiarity with OnStar and GM safety/infotainment systems.

Pay: $40-$50 per hour
