The PDR Technician Trainer reports to the National Technician Training Manager and is responsible for developing a skilled and efficient technician workforce through comprehensive training and knowledge transfer.
Specializing in Paintless Dent Removal (PDR), the Trainer works closely with field management to teach essential skills while designing, delivering, and improving training programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Training & Instruction
Conduct hands-on and classroom training sessions for new hires and existing technicians on Paintless Dent Repair techniques, tools, and best practices.
Consistently deliver training that align with company standards and customer expectations.
Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to trainees, ensuring skill proficiency and confidence.
Demonstrate proper use of PDR tools, including glue pulling, blending, and panel access techniques.
Evaluate trainee performance through practical assessments and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
Ensure trainees understand and follow safety protocols when working with tools, chemicals, and vehicle surfaces.
Customize training execution based on the skill level and learning pace of trainees.
Curriculum & Program Development
Assist in continually developing, updating, and improving training materials, manuals, and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with leadership to identify training program changes.
Communication & Reporting
Communicate trainee progress, strengths, and areas for improvement to managers and leadership.
Provide recommendations for post-graduation experiences based on assessments.
Maintain accurate training records, including attendance, assessment results, and certification status.
Operational & Administrative Support
Assist in maintaining training facility equipment, tools, and workspaces to ensure a professional learning environment.
Coordinate with stakeholders to onboard new hires and ensure a smooth training-to-field transition.
Participate in company meetings, workshops, and trade shows to stay engaged with industry trends.
Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise & Experience
Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) Subject Matter Expert with deep technical knowledge
Minimum 4-Star LOA Certification
5+ years of experience as a PDR Technician with Dent Wizard
$150K+ annual billing in at least one of the last three years as a PDR Technician
Proficiency in using Dent Wizard Standard Issue Kit tools and advanced PDR tools
Business & Operational Knowledge
Strong understanding of Dent Wizard business structure and operations
Working knowledge of ReconPro invoicing software and proper SKU application
Proficiency in SharePoint, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Word, and Viva Engage
Training & Coaching Skills
Experience with training processes and procedures
Strong coaching and mentorship abilities to develop new technicians
Ability to hold interactive huddle meetings and conduct live PDR demonstrations
Excellent demonstration, presentation, and communication skills
Customer & Stakeholder Management
Strong customer retention skills to support business growth
Ability to communicate effectively and negotiate solutions with stakeholders

Must have close, distance, and depth perception vision with the ability to adjust focus
Requires manual dexterity for precision tasks and repetitive motion

Ability to lift up to 45 pounds (e.g., light hand tools, equipment)
Environmental Exposure
Exposure to moderate noise levels in a shop or training environment
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
The starting compensation is expected to be:
$80,000,00 - $125,000.00We offer a competitive & comprehensive benefit package including: paid time off, medical, dental, vision, and 401k match (50% on the dollar up to 7% of employee contribution).
